Its awards season again! Each year the Syracuse Section asks our civil engineering community to nominate an Engineer-of-the-Year and Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement completed in the previous year. Our award winners have come from a wide variety of backgrounds and project types. Individual engineer winners have come from academia, industry, government, and consulting and their entire career contributions to the profession and our community are considered. Past project winners include interesting structures, transportation accomplishment, environmental restoration, water supply, and other project categories. Central New York has had great civil engineers and civil engineering achievements since the early 1800s when the Erie Canal was built. Let’s celebrate our tradition of civil engineering excellence!
